Daniella’s story

At 18 months old Daniella was diagnosed with a form of Cerebral Palsy called Spastic diplegia. Spastic diplegia made it difficult for Daniella to walk and was caused by damage to the outer layer of her brain called the cerebral cortex.

In 2009 Grandview Children’s Centre advised Daniella’s family to have surgery on her legs. So in 2009 Daniella had the surgery that was recommended to her. After her surgery she continued therapy at Grandview, she was determined to walk. And now Daniella can walk using a walker and stand on her own. She is more confident than ever before and loves showing off her cheerleader pose and swimming she just recently received her Level 2 in swimming. Daniella dreams big and her family says, “There are no limits to what she can do because of Grandview!”.
